Sleep Concept “Sleepacy” launched

More than 60%* of the world's population suffers from sleep problems, but there is in fact much that can be done to improve sleep health and thus quality of life. Sleepacy, the sleep concept that  has coached parts of the Swedish Olympic team, wants to help the world's population sleep better - and Swedes are first in line. On 10 June, Sleepacy's first concept store opens at Norrlandsgatan 13 in Stockholm.

In the new Stockholm store, which is the first in the world, Sleepacy will offer concrete tools for better sleep health, knowledge through a unique sleep coaching method and sleep tests, as well as sleep-related products such as beds, duvets, and pillows in premium quality. In addition to the classic sleep products, Sleepacy offers a wide range of products that caters to sleep enhancing routines during the day. From lounge wear, workout clothes, skincare, scented candles and teas to special alarm clocks and lighting. All Sleepacy products have been developed by sleep experts based on the latest sleep research and science to create the ideal conditions for the best possible sleep and have been tested in Hilding Anders’ state-of-the art sleep lab in Switzerland.

- We know that poor sleep is the rule rather than the exception. With Sleepacy, we take a holistic approach to sleep and offer personalized solutions. The idea is to create a sleep destination, a shop where we offer advice, coaching and products in a relaxing and friendly atmosphere. From a broader perspective, we want to create a sleep movement - everyone has the right to a good night's sleep," says Hanna Tellskog, one of the initiators of Sleepacy.

Sleepacy, which is part of the Hilding Anders Group, wants to take social responsibility, and inspire people to prioritize their sleep and improve their sleep health. Sweden is the first to go. But soon after, Sleepacy will be launched in Denmark and China, after which the concept will be rolled out across Europe.

This is Sleep Health

There is a strong scientific link between good sleep and positive health outcomes. But good sleep does not always come naturally. As with diet and exercise, we may need to make lifestyle changes to achieve positive health outcomes. There has been a lack of concrete tools on how to practice healthy sleep. This is where we see that Sleepacy can make a difference.

Sleepacy has coached parts of the Swedish Olympic team

Sleepacy's unique sleep coaching method is based on both behavioral and sleep research. The method consists of individual coaching based on an initial analysis of quantitative and qualitative data developed in close cooperation with the Swedish National Olympic Committee and Karolinska Institutet. Part of the Swedish Olympic squad has already received sleep coaching ahead of the Tokyo 2021 Olympics, which has had a positive impact on their performance. 82 percent of those who have finished their sleep coaching have improved their sleep efficiency (time asleep/time in bed). 64 percent have improved sleep latency (time required to fall asleep). 82 percent saw a decrease in night-time awakenings (which means improved sleep quality) and 91 percent saw a decrease in time spent awake during the middle of the night (improved sleep quality). Sleep coaching will also be offered to individuals starting at the end of the year.

- The sleep coaching can be compared to a Personal Trainer for sleep and is based on a three-step process: Identification of problem areas through sleep testing, implementation of simple, small changes through sleep routines, combined with follow-up and feedback to ensure that the change is sustainable, says Sanjay Verma Chief Sleep Officer at Hilding Anders Group and Sleepacy.
